Toldboden – our place in a historic gateway

Think About People is based in the old customs buildings at Toldboden in Copenhagen

It’s a place historically connected to trade, movement and exchange between Denmark and the world.

For centuries, goods from across the globe passed through this part of the harbour before reaching the Danish market. Today, we see a natural connection between that history and the work we do: helping companies and people move across markets, borders and opportunities.

Our own journey began in a small office in Soho, New York, in 2016, where Jens and Murphy, our office dog, started what would later become Think About People. There were no fixed answers, only an idea, a strong instinct and the courage to begin.

What started as a way to support Danish companies entering the US market has since evolved into a boutique headhunting firm with an international outlook and a strong partnership between Jens, Mortimer, Michael and Jacques.

Today, we help organisations attract talented people from around the world, and we help individuals take on the missions and roles that define the next chapter of their careers.

In that sense, we have become part of the story framed by our surroundings: a place where people, ambitions and opportunities meet before moving out into the world.
